FAQ
FAQ
What is online notarization?
Online notarization is the process of having your documents notarized remotely through our secure online platform, by connecting you with a licensed notary public via video.
How does online notarization work?
You will receive a link via email to join the online session at your scheduled time. Our platform will verify your identity by comparing your ID and a selfie, after which you will be connected with a notary via live video. The document will either be supplied by you or the notary, and will be visible on both your screens. You and the notary will both digitally sign the document, and the notary will place their seal and digital certificate on the document, which completes the notarization.
How will I receive my notarized document?
Your document will be emailed to you immediately after it has been notarized and payment has been completed.
How much does online notarization cost?
The cost is $25 per notarization (not per page). For example, if a 10-page document only requires the notary to sign and seal in 2 different spaces, the total cost of that transaction would be $50.
What types of documents can be notarized online?
Most documents can be notarized online. However, we do not provide online notarization for Last Will and Testaments, Trust documents, Donations, Prenuptial agreements, or Alimony/Spousal Support agreements. Please check local regulations for any additional restrictions specific to your area.
How many people can join one signing session, and do they have to be in the same place?
Our platform can accommodate up to 10 signers per session. The signers do not have to be located in the same place. Each signer will connect remotely with their smart device.
How long does the online notarization process take?
The time varies depending on the complexity of the document being notarized. Each session is scheduled for 15 minutes by default, but the process generally only takes a few minutes.
Can I use any device for online notarization?
You will need a smartphone, computer, or tablet with reliable internet connectivity and a camera for video conferencing.
What type of identification is necessary?
Each signer must have valid (not expired) government-issued picture identification, such as a driver’s license or passport.
Is online notarization legally valid?
Yes. Documents notarized online are legally recognized and accepted in most jurisdictions. Please check local regulations for any additional restrictions specific to your area.
Are there age restrictions for using online notarization services?
Yes. Each signer must be at least 18 years old.
